Last weekend, Magirus Schweiz GmbH officially opened its new sales and service centre in Schongau, Canton of Lucerne. The two-day event began on Friday with a formal ceremony attended by around 100 invited guests and partners. Linda Schmidt (Managing Director of Magirus Schweiz GmbH) and Harry Oortwijn (Magirus COO) welcomed attendees and emphasised the strategic importance of the new facility for the company’s future in Switzerland.
Saturday was open to the public: during the open day, approximately 500 visitors explored the new premises and learned about the latest solutions in firefighting and civil protection. Highlights included live demonstrations of cutting-edge equipment such as the AirCore TAF extinguishing robot and guided tours of the newly equipped workshop.

The relocation, completed in October 2025, strengthens Magirus Schweiz GmbH’s customer focus and service efficiency. The upgraded infrastructure enables faster spare parts supply and more streamlined maintenance processes.
This opening marks a milestone in the broader transformation plan of the Magirus Group, which aims to drive growth through targeted investment, technological innovation and enhanced customer orientation. The founding of Magirus Schweiz GmbH in March 2025 was an important step in this strategic realignment.
