Magirus Schweiz GmbH is relocating to Schongau in the canton of Lucerne, just fifteen kilometres from its previous location at Iveco Switzerland. The move is scheduled for October 2025. The expansion of the Swiss subsidiary of the long-established Ulm-based company is part of the comprehensive transformation plan recently presented. It will create additional capacity to meet growing sales and customer service requirements. Extensive renovation work is currently underway to tailor the new premises precisely to operational requirements.
New location: modern, functional and customer-oriented
The new facility in Schongau has almost 1,000 m² of workshop (including a dedicated spare parts warehouse) and over 200 m² of office space with a showroom and waiting area for visitors. The excellent connections to the main transport routes in central Switzerland ensure easy access from all over the country. With the strengthening of this location, the entire Central European market will benefit from the comprehensive presence and service capacity of the Magirus service and sales network. The additional resources will enable more intensive customer service and even more individually tailored advice.
Magirus on Course for Expansion
Linda Schmidt, Managing Director of Magirus Schweiz GmbH, emphasises: "We are delighted to be starting out at our new location with the entire Magirus Switzerland team. This is an important step and sends a strong signal as part of our group-wide transformation plan – we are expanding!" To expand its mobile customer service, Magirus is adding two additional service buses to its fleet in Switzerland, enabling diagnostics and minor maintenance to be carried out directly on site at fire brigades.
Once the renovation work is complete, the Magirus Schweiz GmbH team will begin the planned move so that full operations can commence at the new location in October 2025. Information on the exact date of the move and the official opening will follow shortly. Interested visitors will also have the opportunity to meet the team in person this week: colleagues from Switzerland and from other countries will be present at the Grimpday event in Geneva starting 4 June.
