Recently, Magirus hosted six fire department crew members from Brandis as well as the city’s mayor, Arno Jesse, when they attended the official handover of their new turntable ladder. This handover, however, was very special. The Brandis Fire Department was the first in the world to receive a Magirus vehicle with a new body structure.
The new turntable ladder is a Magirus M32L-AT articulated ladder with telescoping arm, working height of 32 meters and a permissible gross weight of 16,000 kg. The turntable ladder is equipped with a three-person rescue cage with a payload of 300 kg and has a camera on the front of the basket. The turntable ladder is mounted on a reliable 150E30 IVECO chassis that meets Euro 5 standards. Its motor performance is 299 HP.
Additional technical details:
- LED podium platform and illuminated steps
- LED floodlights
- 5 LED spotlight on rescue cage
- Mounting bracket for two PA devices with accessories
- 13 kVA generator with starters on the main and cage operating stands
Mayor Arno Jesse and the accompanying crew members were delighted about the vehicle and signed the transfer papers. They will use the upcoming weeks to familiarize themselves with the turntable ladder until the formal handover and commissioning on 28 August 2015.
