Welcoming future professionals

Twenty new trainees entered the working world on 1 September 2015 at Magirus. They will obtain first insights into the career world through four vocational and three dual studies programmes. Future school leavers have until 30 September 2015 to apply to Magirus for the vocational training 2016.

Seventeen of the trainees are entering the commercial vocations; three are studying in dual degree programmes based either on the Ulm model, or Studies in Business Administration (Industry). All of the beginners have one thing in common: They are now starting a new, independent life and simultaneously, their first step on the career ladder.

Practical knowledge from day one.

The first day’s goal was for the group to get to know each other as well as the company, before touring the plant departments involved in the training process. They will now familiarize themselves with the practical processes and workflows in their areas. This is intended to help the potential future employees attain technical skills, understand operational contexts and promote their entrepreneurial thinking. On average, vocational training at Magirus lasts between two and three years, depending on the profession. In some cases, trainees with good to exceptional school marks and operational performance may be able to complete their programmes sooner.

Application period for 2016 continues.

“Among other things, good school marks, manual skills and enthusiasm for the desired profession are decisive criteria for us when selecting candidates,” says Lara Regenauer, who is responsible for the Magirus training programme. She advises future candidates to carefully check their completed applications before sending to ensure that all important documents are included. This prevents unnecessary errors. Future school leavers have until 30 September 2015 to apply to Magirus GmbH for one of the five commercial training courses. Further tips on the application process as well as all information on the many training opportunities available at Magirus can be found in the Careers section.
