Magirus delivered a refurbished DLA(K) 23-12 CC n.B. (manufactured in 1997) to the Dillinger Hütte plant fire brigade on Thursday. Over 325 years old and with almost 5,600 employees, the steel plant Dillinger Hütte in Germany's Saarland is one of the oldest companies in Europe and produces heavyplate products such as the famous Dillinger tinplate. This is the first turntable ladder ever for the approximately 20 full-time and 80 part-time members of the plant fire brigade in Dillingen an der Saar. Fire Inspector Frank Minor personally accepted the key at the Magirus Experience Center in Ulm.
The turntable ladder has a 30 m rescue height and 32 m working height as well as a three-man rescue cage with a 270 kg payload and a permanently installed water pipe in ladder section 1. The used vehicle's ladder unit has been fully reconditioned and the top ladder unit belt has been marked in luminous yellow. Furthermore, the vehicle is equipped with LED floodlights on the extension ladder and the rescue cage. Thanks to its low-lying construction with 2.90 m vehicle height and only 2.40 m vehicle width, the turntable ladder is extremely agile and offers ideal manoeuvrability in areas that restrict motion. The vehicle has the following accessories:
- Monitor for the rescue cage
- Stretcher storage
- Power generator providing 13 kvA
- Compressed air fan
Magirus wishes its comrades at the Dillinger Hütte many good and safe missions!
