Successful premiere of the HLF KatS 10 for Saxony

The 2017 FLORIAN proves its status as highly frequented trade fair. Magirus presents its new HLF 10 for disaster response in the state of Saxony in Dresden.

From 5 to 7 October 2017, the trade-fair grounds in Dresden hosted the FLORIAN 2017, a meeting place for firefighting, rescue and civil protection professionals. On an exhibition area of more than 15,000 square meters, this year's fair welcomed a total of 220 exhibitors – the highest number since the beginning of the FLORIAN in 1997. Altogether, 16,000 visitors attended the three-day event. Magirus was represented with seven vehicles; a special highlight was the presentation of the new Magirus fire-fighting and civil response vehicle for Saxony.

Perfectly equipped for disaster response

Premiere at the booth of the Interior Ministry of the State of Saxony: The HLF 10 KatS on a four-wheel drive chassis was first officially available for viewing at the FLORIAN 2017. Built on an MAN TGM 13.290, a 213 kW (290 hp) motor in connection with a 9-speed transmission ensures the required traction. As a single-tyre all-wheel variant, the MAN chassis also shows its strengths in rugged terrain. For the first phase of a firefighting operation, an extinguishing agent capacity of 1,000 litres of water, including 230-V tank heating, is available. The Magirus FPN 10-1000 centrifugal pump ensures the required pumping power. Magirus will deliver a total of 12 vehicles with this new vehicle concept to the state of Saxony.

Large crowds at the Magirus stand

In addition to the indoor presentation of the HLF 10, the numerous visitors discovered a selection of firefighting vehicles at Magirus's outdoor stand. The M32L-AT articulated turntable ladder on a Mercedes-Benz chassis and the MLF light tank pumper with the Magirus Team Cab, for example, met with great interest. Professionals also intensively discussed about the LF 20 KatS fire engine. The highly diverse cross-section of Magirus's product range was rounded out by a TLF 4000 fire engine, an MTW crew transport carrier and a command vehicle.
