Magirus GmbH acquires Achleitner Fahrzeugbau GmbH. The long-established international manufacturer of firefighting and disaster control technology acquires the Austrian specialist for off-road and safety vehicles. The agreement for the takeover was signed on 1 October 2025. The aim of the transaction is to expand the product portfolio to include robust special-purpose vehicles and to strengthen the company's position in the market for mission-critical vehicles by combining expertise in firefighting technology and off-road special solutions, as well as creating new growth opportunities.

The acquisition of Achleitner Fahrzeugbau GmbH expands Magirus' portfolio to include customised special-purpose vehicles for demanding terrain as well as for security and defence applications. Achleitner, Austria's leading specialist, is renowned for its expertise in building robust all-wheel-drive vehicles and armoured solutions designed for extremely difficult operating conditions.

This strategic addition will enable Magirus to offer its customers an even wider range of mission-critical vehicles in the future. The combination of Magirus' leading firefighting and disaster control technology with Achleitner's expertise in the construction of highly off-road vehicles creates additional capacity and advantages, particularly for fire departments operating in rough terrain or performing complex security tasks.

Fatmir Veselaj, CEO of Magirus GmbH, emphasises the strategic importance: "The acquisition of Achleitner is the next important step in implementing our transformation plan to expand and strengthen Magirus in a targeted manner. We are gaining valuable expertise in the field of robust all-wheel drive and safety vehicles, which ideally complements our expertise in firefighting vehicle technology and creates additional capacity. This will enable us to offer our customers an even broader range of special-purpose vehicles for all types of extreme and safety-related operations in the future and to continue on our growth path."

The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2025, subject to customary conditions.
