Magirus Lohr can immediately begin using the Styrian coat of arms. Governor Hermann Schützenhöfer heartily congratulated the company at the awards ceremony on Wednesday, 7 October. The company’s strong local roots and decades of manufacture in Kainbach make Magirus Lohr one of the most important economic factors and employer in the region. Schützenhöfer stressed the importance of such companies for the whole of Styria and beyond.

My special thanks also goes to our dedicated employees, who provide fire department services the whole year round.”
A large part of the company’s 150 employees are themselves members of volunteer fire departments. They understand how to recognise market needs at an early stage, rapidly develop products and create innovative solutions. This lead to the development of the “Austrian approach”, which stands for proven and high-quality components in the field of fire-fighting. The concept is Magirus Lohr’s exacting and individual response to the requirements of fire departments in and outside of Austria.
Flexibility and unique solutions as key to success
The strength of the traditional Kainbach company is that it can react flexibly to customer requirements and needs and construct unique solutions. For decades, the company has been considered a think tank for specific Austrian innovations for premium fire-fighting vehicles. This is confirmed by both Andreas Klauser, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Iveco Magirus and Brand President of Case IH and Steyr, and Magirus Managing Director Antonio Benedetti.
In 2014, Magirus Lohr sold 140 fire-fighting vehicles in Austria as well as in the export countries of Croatia, Slovenia, South Tyrol and Switzerland, generating a turnover of 23.1 million euros.
