HNU Award for Magirus

Professors Alexander Kracklauer and Sascha Fabian honouring Andreas Hoffmann, Head of Human Resources at Magirus.

Presentation of the Employer Branding Award 2015 took place last Thursday at the University of Applied Sciences Neu-Ulm (HNU) during the “Career Night” job fair. For the first time, Magirus GmbH is also among the prizewinners. Professors Alexander Kracklauer and Sascha Fabian handed over the award as “Top Newcomer of the Year” to Magirus representatives. The honour is the result of a representative survey of over 700 students from Ulm and Neu-Ulm. The study shows how good the company’s so-called “Employer Branding” is – or in other words, how well it is perceived as an attractive employer. Magirus showed the greatest improvement in regard to its perceived employer branding.

Students and prospective professionals choose the most attractive employers

With this award, professors at the HNU’s Growth and Sales Strategies Competence Centre honoured Magirus’s good employer branding work as well as its commitment to maintaining its university presence with future professionals. As part of the study, 69 medium-sized companies with an annual turnover of over 50 million euros were investigated. The study’s focus was discovering how popular the companies located in and around Ulm and Neu-Ulm as well as in the Alb-Donau District – primarily SMEs – were with students at the University of Ulm and the Universities of Applied Sciences of Ulm and Neu-Ulm. The companies were evaluated according to the criteria "Awareness", "Sympathy" and "Attractiveness". 756 students from economics, information management, health management, engineering and computer science were questioned. This was the third time that the HNU Employer Branding Award was presented by the university.
