Magirus premieres new vehicle concept for Saxony, the HLF 10 KatS, at the FLORIAN

Magirus will present its HLF 10, designed especially for civil protection, for the first time at the Saxon Ministry of the Interior's booth at the 2017 FLORIAN trade fair. Many other vehicle highlights from the Ulm company will likewise be presented in the outdoor area.

Premiere at the FLORIAN 2017: Magirus's fire-fighting and civil response vehicle, the HLF 10 KatS, will be presented to the public for the first time at the FLORIAN trade fair in Dresden. From 5 – 7 October 2017, the vehicle will be located in Hall 3 at booth G3 of the Saxon Ministry of the Interior. The Ministry launched the concept for the new fire engine at the end of 2016 and commissioned Magirus with its implementation. The traditional Ulm company will deliver a total of 12 vehicles with this new vehicle concept to Saxony. The first prototype of the vehicle is being shown in Dresden.

Powerful 4-wheel drive with additional load

The HLF 10 is built on a MAN TGM 13.290 four-wheel drive chassis with a 3,950 mm wheelbase, a 213 kW (290 hp) engine in conjunction with a 9-speed transmission, which ensures the required traction. As a single-tyre all-wheel variant, the MAN chassis also shows its strengths in rugged terrain. The design, implemented with proven Magirus AluFire 3 technology, has 7 storage compartments that provide space for the almost complete standard loading of an HLF 10 all-wheel drive as well as additional space for the special loads needed in catastrophes. In addition to a hygiene board, additional important elements such as snow chains, towbars or sand sheets can also be loaded.

Team Cab ensures crew safety

1,000 liters of water are available for the first phase of a fire-fighting operation. The water tank is equipped with a 230 V heater, and the Magirus FPN 10-1000 centrifugal pump ensures the required pumping power. A pneumatic light pole with 6 x LED spotlights is integrated into the structure to ensure the best visibility, even in the dark. The HLF 10 is equipped with the safe, spacious Magirus Team Cab for the crew and has space for 1 +8 persons.

Other highlights at the Magirus stand

In addition to the premiere of the new vehicle concept, Magirus will be showing many other highlights from its current product range at outdoor area 5 at booth FG-3. On this over 750 m² area, the M32L-AT turntable ladder with telescoping articulated arm on a Mercedes-Benz chassis and the LF 20 civil protection vehicle on an Iveco chassis can both be viewed. This interesting cross-section of the company's product range will be rounded out by a Magirus MLF, an MTW and a command vehicle. We look forward to your visit!
