Magirus GmbH announces that with effect from 3 January 2025, its full ownership and that of its affiliates has been transferred from Iveco Group N.V. (EXM: IVG) to Mutares SE & Co. KGaA (ISIN: DE000A2NB650). The transfer has been executed as planned per the already announced agreement of 13 March 2024. All Magirus business and service activities will continue as usual.
Thomas Hilse, who has successfully led the company since 2021 as President of the Firefighting Business Unit at Iveco Group N.V. (EXM: IVG), will continue to play a pivotal role in the company’s transition period. Effective January 4, 2025, Hilse will take on the role of Interim-CEO of Magirus GmbH, leading the company through a crucial phase of transition.
Hilse’s primary responsibility will be to ensure the seamless transfer of operations as Magirus GmbH moves from its longstanding ownership with the Iveco Group to its new owner, Mutares SE & Co. KGaA (ISIN: DE000A2NB650). This transition marks an important milestone in the company’s future as it begins a new chapter under Mutares’ ownership. Having served in various leadership roles within the Iveco Group, Hilse’s extensive experience and deep understanding of both Magirus’ operations and the firefighting industry position him as the ideal choice to guide the company during this critical period. His leadership has been instrumental in steering Magirus towards innovation, operational efficiency, and strategic growth, making him a key figure in ensuring a smooth shift to the new ownership structure.
In addition to Thomas Hilse as Interim-CEO, Mutares restructuring expert Fatmir Veselaj will lead the company’s transformation journey as Chief Restructuring Officer (CRO).
Thomas Hilse, CEO of Magirus: “We are welcoming Mutares as new owner in order to fully explore the opportunities in the transformation of this great company. We are looking forward to the next 160 years in the history of our company, serving heroes all around the globe. We are also pleased to welcome Fatmir Veselaj into our executive team. Fatmir has been instrumental in closing the transaction and the entire management team was impressed with his transformation experience. He will be a great source of support to Magirus for the next phase to come.”
Johannes Laumann, CIO of Mutares, expressed his confidence in Hilse’s leadership, stating: "We are thrilled that Thomas has accepted our offer to continue guiding Magirus GmbH through this important transition. His proven leadership and expertise will be invaluable as we work to integrate the company into Mutares and establish a strong foundation for the future.”
