Due to technical issues international candidates couldn’t submit their documents for the Conrad Dietrich Magirus Award last week. Therefore, Magirus decided to extend the application period for this competition until 25 October 2015. The deadline for German applicants will end on schedule on 18 October 2015. Participation forms for the Conrad Dietrich Magirus Prize competition can be found at www.feuerwehrwelt.de for the national competition and www.world-of-firefighters.com for the international competition. Alternatively, application documents can be submitted via e-mail to magirus-award@. waechter-waechter.de
About the Conrad Dietrich Magirus Award
Whether the submission revolves around classic firefighting, new strategies, precise teamwork or impressive rescue operations, all fire departments around the globe are eligible to participate. The goal of the Conrad Dietrich Magirus Award is to draw attention to the numerous and varied services offered by firefighters: “Fire departments are a strong pillar of our society and often go beyond their limits. As one of the largest suppliers of fire protection and disaster response technology, we have made it our task to publicise the work of firefighters,” explains Antonio Benedetti, Managing Director of the Magirus, the organiser of the competition.
The winners are determined in two stages. First, a high-profile international jury sifts through all submissions and makes a pre-selection. The finalists are entered in an online poll. There, anyone can cast a vote for their favourite; the team with the most votes wins.
Engagement of renowned partners
For the first time, renowned partners from the fire-fighting business will also support the Conrad Dietrich Magirus Award. Endress Power Generators, AWG Fittings and Dönges will accompany the competition and present their latest products and ideas to the professional attendees during the awards ceremony.
