For us it is a matter of course to handle the user's personalised data resulting from use of the Web site or electronic communication with us in a responsible manner. We take all the measures necessary to protect the personalised data the user provides and to comply with the applicable national and European data protection regulations at all times.
We only collect the personalised data which the user chooses to provide to us or which are necessary in order for us to provide our services to the user. To the extent technically possible and reasonable, we also provide services that do not involve the specification of such data and/or that involve specification of data in anonymous form or involving an alias.
Collection and storage of personalised data
The user provides personalised data on an expressly voluntary basis. When the user provides us with his e-mail address, name, telephone number, etc. in order to receive information on our products, participate in prize drawings or surveys or simply in order to remain up-to-date regarding products of interest to the user, we collect and store such data, but only as for as long as necessary for the purpose for which the user has provided the data or for compliance with legal regulations. This means for example that the data is stored until we have answered the user's inquiry or have concluded a given prize drawing. To the extent that the user has given us permission to store his personalised data for marketing purposes, this means that the user's data is stored for the duration of the period in which Magirus undertakes marketing measures or until the user rescinds such permission.
Should the user make his mobile telephone number and/or e-mail address generally available to the public in the course of using the services offered on the Web site, please note that Magirus accepts no responsibility for the resulting consequences, in particular for reception of unsolicited telephone calls and/or e-mails, etc.
Collection of statistical data that can not be allocated to a given person
When our Web site is accessed, our systems save the Internet Protocol (IP) address as well as information such as cookies, connection and system information that do not contain any personalised data. The IP address may then be stored together with other data from the user in question either collected in the past or to be collected in the future. Magirus requires the information for security reasons in order to prevent abuse and for other threat protection purposes.
We also use Google Analytics as a Web tracking tool.
This Web site uses Google Analytics, a Web analysis service of Google Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses so-called "cookies", text files that are stored on the user's computer, to enable the analysis of how the user uses the Web site. The information generated by the cookie on how the user uses this Web site is as a rule transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. In case IP anonymisation is activated on this Web page, the user's IP address is first truncated by Google within the member states of the European Union or in other party states to the treaty on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transferred to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. On behalf of the provider of the present Web site Google will use this information to evaluate the given user's use of the Web site, to generate reports on Web site activities and to provide the Web site provider with additional services connected with the use of the Web site and of the Internet. The IP address of the user's browser transmitted in the context of Google Analytics is not combined with other Google data. The user can prevent the storage of cookies with appropriate browser software settings; however, we hereby advise the user that in this case it may not be possible to make full use all of the functions of the present Web site. Furthermore the user can prevent the collection of the data relating to his use of the Web site generated by the cookie (including user's IP address) and its transmission to Google as well as the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link: Browser add-on for deactivation of Google Analytics .
Use of Facebook plug-ins
Plug-ins from the social network Facebook, 1601 South California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA, may be integrated in our pages. The Facebook plug-ins can be identified based on the Facebook logo or the "Like" button on our page. An overview of the Facebook plug-ins can be found here: http://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/.
When the user visits our pages the plug-in establishes a direct connection between the user's browser and the Facebook server. As a result Facebook receives the information that the user has visited our pages with his IP address. If the user clicks on the Facebook "Like" while logged in to his Facebook account, the user can link the content of our pages with his Facebook profile. This lets Facebook allocate the user's visit to our pages to the user's user account. Here we emphasise that we as provider of these pages have no knowledge of the content of the data transmitted to Facebook or of how Facebook uses this data. Additional information on this topic is available in the Facebook data protection statement at http://de-de.facebook.com/policy.php .
If the user does not want Facebook to allocate the visit to our pages to his Facebook user account, the user should log out of his Facebook user account.
Use of Twitter
Functions of the service Twitter have been integrated in our pages. These functions are provided by Twitter Inc., 795 Folsom St., Suite 600, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. By using Twitter and the "Re-Tweet" function the Web pages that the user visits are linked with the user's Twitter account and made available to other users. In the process data is also transmitted to Twitter.
Here we emphasise that we as provider of these pages have no knowledge of the content of the data transmitted to Twitter or of how Twitter uses this data. Additional information on this topic is available in the Twitter data protection statement at http://twitter.com/privacy.
The user can change his data protection settings at Twitter in the account settings at http://twitter.com/account/settings .
Disclosure of data
The user's data are only disclosed to our service providers for the maintenance of the present Web site. Otherwise these data are not transferred to third parties. Magirus GmbH has the revocable right to use the data to advertise its products, to the extent that the user has given consent to do so.
Transfer of personalised data to government instances and public authorities only takes place under the provisions of mandatory national statutory provisions.
At all times the user has the right to receive information from us regarding stored personalised data on the user, its origin and recipients as well as on the purpose of the data storage. Please contact us in writing in this regard.
Right of revocation
The user has the right at any time to revoke his consent to the storage of personalised data, effective for the future. The user can submit the revocation in written form. The user can also submit the revocation to us in electronic form via e-mail.
