Terms and Conditions
Competition for the Conrad Dietrich Magirus Award for the ‘Firefighting Team of the Year’.
All firefighting teams from voluntary and professional fire services and company or factory fire brigades. Employees of Magirus are not permitted to take part in the competition.
Registration / submissions
Submitted can be incidents in the fields of fire fighting and technical assistance, that have taken place after 1 October 2015. Participation is free. Submit incident reports containing the most important details (order of events, tactics, success) with the online registration form provided.
The incidents can be submitted only once. Incidents that have already been submitted for the Conrad Dietrich Magirus Award 2015 are excluded from participation. Incorrectly or insufficiently completed forms will not take part in the competition. Registration automatically confirms that each entrant has read and accepts the terms and conditions.
Determination of winners
The winners are selected on the basis of a two-step elimination process. In the first step, a jury select the finalists. In the second step, the overall winner is determined from the list of finalists by online voting on this website: ‘The Firefighting Team of the Year’.
The winning team receives the Conrad Dietrich Magirus Award in the form of a prestigious, engraved trophy and certificates for the members of the team. The top prize is a trip to New York lasting several days for ten members of the team with a visit to the FDNY (Fire Department New York), incl. flights and hotel accommodation. Payment of cash-value equivalents to the prizes is not possible.
Consent to the terms and conditions of entry
By registering with the online entry form or submitting the completed entryform by post, entrants confirm that they have read and consent to the terms andconditions of entry. At the same time, the firefighting team pledges to send adelegation to the official award ceremony. On failure to attend, the organizersreserve the right to exclude the entry from this firefighting team from thecompetition.
Assignment of rights
In conjunction with the competition, all entrants grant the organizers unlimited, non-exclusive, rights for materials entered for the competition in terms of time, location and content, for reporting (independent of the media, therefore including print and online), public relations activities and announcements. This refers in particular to the right to reproduce and distribute the materials and make them publicly accessible.
Copyright / personal rights
Entrants guarantee the organizers that they are in full and unchallenged possession of all rights regarding materials (text, images, diagrams etc.) submitted for the agreed purposes, and that the content is free of all claims to rights by third parties, including possible personal rights, and exempt the organizers from any liability in conjunction with potential third party declarations of first claim.
Submissions are not automatically entitled to take part in the competition, for example, when copyright, technical or ethical aspects indicate good reasons for refusal. The organizers reserve the right to discontinue the competition, the awarding of prizes or exclude individual teams from the competition at any time. Any recourse to legal action is excluded in every respect.
